Partnerships Leader - Agnostiq

Who Is Agnostiq & How Are They Changing the World?

Agnostiq is on a mission to democratize access to the world’s most advanced computing resources. Founded in 2018 by Oktay Goktas and Elliot MacGowan and backed by a team of physicists, software engineers, computer scientists and mathematicians, they work at the intersection of High Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and Quantum Computing.

Their open source platform, Covalentis a multi-cloud, distributed computing framework designed to simplify access to advanced computing resources such as GPUs, ASICs, and quantum computers, to power the next generation of machine learning and quantum computing applications. The cloud-hosted, commercial version of Covalent, provides on-demand access to CPUs, GPUs and other cloud-based HPC resources. Covalent is used by leading teams at major universities, national labs, and Fortune 500 companies across North America and Europe.

Covalent is industry and vertical-agnostic, from bio & life sciences (see how Covalent streamlines biotech workflows here, & LLM workflows here), to chemistry, quantum computing, machine learning and more.

In April 2023 Agnostiq closed a $9.1M USD seed extension funding round led by Differential Ventures. Additional investors include Scout Ventures, Tensility Venture Partners, Green Egg Ventures, and Rob Granieri, principal at Jane Street Capital. This follows their $2M USD seed round in 2021 and a ~$1M pre-seed round in 2018.

Hardware and cloud providers are investing heavily in HPC systems to power the next generation of AI applications. Agnostiq, with both a commercial offering (Covalent Cloud) and open-source offering, is well-positioned to capture this emerging market!

How Will I Make An Impact?

Reporting to the CEO, you will be Agnostiq’s first partnerships hire! You will build an innovative partnership strategy that includes: market research, outreach, relationship building, presentations, attending and speaking at conferences and tradeshows, working alongside the CEO and COO to negotiate partnership agreements and leading the charge on operationalizing those partnerships.

Agnostiq already has partnerships with some of the biggest players in tech: Google, Microsoft and Amazon to name a few, and you’ll inherit those relationships. There are big opportunities for academic partnerships with global Tier 1 universities, pharmaceutical companies, and AI companies from startups through to the top AI companies in the world. Agnostiq already has hundreds of qualified leads waiting for your analysis; you’ll have the ownership to determine who to prioritize. You’ll then use your confidence, industry knowledge and strategic networking abilities to get yourself in the door and build early relationships with key decision-makers.

If you enjoy evangelizing deep tech products in an innovative, fast-moving industry (and you’re comfortable doing so without a big brand name behind you…yet), then this might be for you.

This high-impact role will give you the autonomy and ownership to build a world-class partnership program with global leaders and emerging players in AI!

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

  • This is a scale-up - you enjoy a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and autonomy that values speed over structure.

  • You have deep experience in the AI space - you know the big players and are connected within the industry. Ideally, you also have familiarity with HPC and cloud

  • You are technical enough to speak the language of AI and/or HPC, which allows you to educate partners and provide feedback to the product team

  • You consider yourself someone who makes new connections easily - and you don’t need a big brand name behind you to get yourself in the door with key decision-makers of potential partners.

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

  • You are confident in designing and implementing a partner strategy

  • You have experience building or maintaining partnerships with academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and/or AI companies.

  • You have a technical background in engineering, computer science or AI, along with strong business, customer success, and/or product acumen

  • You’ve held a senior leadership role in a scale-up and high-growth environment

  • You’re excited about a remote role that involves global travel to conferences, trade shows, client and partner sites.

The Process:

While the process may evolve, the general steps look like:

Step 1: Meeting with the CEO/Co-Founder and COO/Co-Founder

Step 2: Interview with the CEO/Co-Founder and COO/Co-Founder

Step 3: Meet the team

Step 4: In-person meet and greet with Co-Founders

Step 5: References and Offer!

As your Artemis Canada Recruitment Consultant, I’ll work closely with you through every step of the process.
