In 2016 Dematic was acquired by KION (the second largest global forklift producer) for 3.3 Billion. Dematic is a global organization, with development teams in Germany, US, and Canada. This role will be working with the Waterloo-based team in Dematic’s Waterloo office.

How Will I Make An Impact?

 

The Cloud & Analytics Organization within Dematic is responsible for delivering Dematic iQ InSights Software. Dematic iQ InSights is a leading Cloud Analytics and IOT platform which interfaces directly with an array of Dematic software and hardware solutions to fully or partially monitor clients’ distribution centers, allowing for full operational visibility and predictive foresight to streamline operations. As the Cloud Development Manager you will join a team at Dematic who is responsible for building a core component of the Dematic iQ solution.

As the Manager of this team you will get to: 

• Lead a team of 7 highly technical and talented developers who are working with bleeding edge cloud technologies

• Leverage your in-depth of knowledge and experience building large scale enterprise cloud solutions

• Ensure strategy and deliverables are aligned with Software Development Roadmap

• Build a close and collaborative relationship with peer teams and leaders in other locations who deliver complementary components of the overall Dematic iQ solution

Do I Have What It Takes (Requirements)?

 

You have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline

• 3+ years of software development experience and 2+ years of demonstrated leadership capabilities (aka you enjoy leading a very technical team)

• Deep knowledge and experience in cloud computing and data analytics

• Strong understanding of architecture, and ability to help drive solution architecture

• Experience working closely with an executive team

• Familiarity with serverless computing and PaaS

• Worked with one of the following: Azure (preferred) or AWS or Google cloud

• Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript and other Cloud technologies

• Experience developing products using Agile/Scrum Software Development methodologies

• Understanding of standard software development tools used by Agile Development teams including Git, GitLab, Jira, Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven
