How Will I Make An Impact?

As VP Finance, you will take ownership of the entire finance function and help build the financial infrastructure required to support disciplined global growth.

Your mandate includes:

  • Strengthening compliance, tax, and audit processes 
  • Accelerating month-end close and improving reporting rigour
  • Elevating board-level reporting and financial transparency
  • Rationalizing and improving financial systems (currently QuickBooks + Mosaic)
  • Overseeing payroll, cap table management, and global tax exposure
  • Managing banking relationships and financial controls
  • Structuring reporting lines and clarifying accountability across the team
  • Mentoring and elevating a growing finance organization
How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
  • You’ve previously held the title VP Finance (or equivalent) at a software company
  • You are a CPA with a strong Controller / accounting foundation
  • You’ve worked in VC-backed startup or scale-up environments
  • You’ve led audits and built relationships with Big 4 firms 
  • You’re comfortable operating in the $10M–$40M ARR range
  • You can build financial models and support forecasting
  • You are risk-aware, structured, and pragmatic
  • You can evaluate systems, tools and AI to improve workflows 
  • You are confident in presenting to Boards and external stakeholders
  • You are excited by building a finance function that can grow in sophistication and scope over time
Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
  • CPA with deep accounting, compliance, and reporting expertise
  • Experience in Series B+ (or similar) SaaS scale-ups
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, including Quebec
  • Experience operating in a global business environment
  • Has overseen payroll, cap tables, and audit processes
  • Comfortable improving systems without over-engineering
  • Has built and mentored finance teams
  • Brings executive presence and credibility with leadership and investors
  • Balanced, structured, and risk-aware, while being commercially minded

Please note: This is an in-office role, with 5 days per week onsite at Botpress's Montreal, QC office.
