Sr. GenAI Data Scientist, AutoScout24 Group

Who Is AutoScout24 Group & How Are They Changing the World

AutoScout24 Group is Europe’s largest online car marketplace. Composed of AutoTrader.ca, AutoSync, DealerTrack and CMS, they’re shaping the future of automotive retail in Europe and Canada.

AutoScout24 Group gives consumers - 40M users across the globe - the transparency they deserve on a big purchase that impacts their daily life. In Europe, they’re a driver of the EV transition, making EV vehicles searchable, comparable and affordable for an entire continent. To do this, they’ve built their brand on being a trusted marketplace.

The Data Science team is core to everything they do at AutoScout24: Every consumer interaction with their products is in one way, shape or form, the output of the data science team. They serve all the business units globally, whether it’s building internal tools to enable product and engineering; building production agentic capabilities on their car auction platform; or building critical but not visible solutions like churn prediction and fraud prevention.

How Will I Make An Impact?
  • You’ll manage the entire lifecycle of the projects you work on: From ideation, to stakeholder interviewing and engagement, to building the model and iterating on it, to pushing it to production and running it, improving as needed.
    • You’ll also identify what to build and evaluate them against business outcomes.
  • You’ll work across the entire AutoScout24 organization and product line, embedding directly into the teams you’re working with on a project by project basis.
  • You’ll build Agentic AI products that fundamentally change the car buying experience.
  • You’ll significantly contribute to their “Company Brain”: Connecting all their data sources to enable deterministic reasoning across LLMs and their data lake.
    • Psst. This will transform how all business stakeholders and analysts across AutoScout24 globally do their work.
How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
  • You’re excited at the opportunity to work in a data science team that is core to a company’s product, roadmap and vision; rather than it being a peripheral part of the business.
  • You have tangible experience building Agentic AI capabilities in production with guardrails.
  • For you, success means starting with the business context: You enjoy sitting down with all stakeholders and can build towards business outcomes.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset: Whether you’ve worked at an early-stage startup, a hyper-growth scale up, or can simply move and build fast.
Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
  • You’re an expert on data science, machine learning, and Agentic-first coding.
  • You have experience building production Agentic AI capabilities end to end.
  • You have experience working in multidisciplinary teams with blurred role boundaries, knowing that in an AI-first world, roles and skills are converging.
  • You’re a great communicator, able to work and build productive relationships across the organization.
  • You always look to serve the business and start with the end in mind, working with stakeholders across the business to understand the ideal outcomes before beginning a build.
  • You approach all projects with a sense of curiosity and a goal to act as a multiplier.
  • You approach technical problems and products with both a technical and a business lens, and are always able to answer: How will this impact the business and our customers?
  • You’re data-driven and data-informed. You have a rigorous, data-led approach to decision making, whether with the product team, engineering team, or other teams across the organization.
  • You’ve worked at fast-paced organizations that build quickly and prioritize shared wins.
  • You’re able to come into their Toronto office 2x a week.
  • Nice to have: You have experience with highly-regulated industries, like finance or insurance.
