Who Is Priority & How Are They Changing the World?
Priority is a financial technology company focused on helping businesses move money more efficiently. Through the Priority Commerce Engine, Priority brings together payables, merchant acquiring, banking, and treasury solutions into a unified commerce platform that helps businesses accelerate cash flow, reduce friction, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
Priority operates across a broad financial ecosystem — supporting small business owners, mid-market operators, and enterprise customers — with products that power how businesses accept payments, manage working capital, and run their financial operations.
The vision: To engineer the world’s most resilient, AI-native financial ecosystem that empowers businesses to transcend table-stakes and lead the agentic future — where every financial transaction is intelligent, every developer is accelerated, and every experience is unified.
The Innovation Studio is a strategic engineering and product hub focused on the future of commerce, payments, and agentic product development here in the Waterloo region. The team is exploring how AI changes the way product and engineering teams work, including agentic PDLC/SDLC workflows, AI-assisted requirements, story decomposition, and more efficient product execution.
How Will I Make An Impact?
As Product Manager, Innovation Studio, you will help drive planning, prioritization, and execution for Priority Commerce Engine initiatives.
You will work closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional stakeholders to move product work from problem framing through delivery, launch, and iteration.
You will:
- Help accelerate roadmap delivery for Priority Commerce Engine initiatives from concept through launch.
- Partner with engineering pods through refinement, sprint planning, delivery, and release.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, pain points, and jobs-to-be-done; champion the customer's voice in product decisions.
- Work in a regulated fintech/payments environment where reliability, compliance, and customer trust matter.
- Use and help improve Priority’s agentic PDLC workflows.
- Contribute to experiments around how PM work changes in an AI-enabled product environment.
- Work with API-first, integration-heavy products where the customer is often an integrator.
- Help shape product documentation and API documentation practices.
- Bring a progressive, hands-on product mindset to a fast-moving team.
How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
This could be a strong fit if you are a Product Manager who enjoys tackling complex problems, working closely with engineering, and helping teams move faster without sacrificing quality, compliance, or customer experience.
You should be energized by:
- Turning ambiguous business problems into clear goals, success metrics, and actionable requirements.
- Working in technical environments where strong product judgment matters.
- Exploring how AI and agentic workflows can improve the way products are built and delivered.
- Thinking beyond features and considering the downstream impact on customers, operations, compliance, risk, and business outcomes.
- Partnering closely with engineering on sequencing, trade-offs, and execution.
- Hands-on product delivery rather than purely strategic roadmap ownership.
- Fast-moving fintech, payments, commerce, or other transactional software environments.
- Being part of a collaborative Waterloo team helping shape the future of product development.
Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
- 3+ years of Product Management, with emphasis on AI-native experience.
- Experience delivering SaaS products, transactional systems, or other technically complex software products.
- Exposure to payments, banking, treasury, card processing, commerce, or related financial systems.
- Demonstrated experience using AI agents or AI-enabled workflows to accelerate product work.
- Strong outcome-specification skills and the ability to transform ambiguous problems into clear goals, success metrics, constraints, and requirements.
- Sound judgment in ambiguous environments, with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across customer experience, operations, compliance, risk, and business objectives.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering teams throughout discovery, planning, and delivery.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to create clear, precise, and actionable product documentation.
- Curious, adaptable, and excited by how AI is changing the way products are built and delivered.
Nice-to-Haves
- 5+ years of Product Management experience within payments, banking, fintech, or other highly regulated technology environments.
- Hands-on experience incorporating AI agents into product workflows, whether in discovery, requirements generation, QA, customer experience, observability, or other areas that improve product delivery and execution.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, agent evaluation frameworks, observability tooling, and the practical challenges of deploying AI-powered solutions in regulated environments.
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, Business, or a related field.
