Principal Product Designer - Priority Commerce

Who Is Priority & How Are They Changing the World

Priority Commerce is a financial technology company focused on helping businesses move money more efficiently. Through the Priority Commerce Engine, Priority brings together payables, merchant acquiring, banking, and treasury solutions into a single platform that helps businesses accelerate cash flow, reduce friction, and unlock new revenue opportunities.

Priority operates across a broad financial ecosystem — supporting small business owners, mid-market operators, and enterprise customers — with products that power how businesses accept payments, manage working capital, and run their financial operations. As Priority continues to scale, the company is investing deeply in product and design to ensure these complex systems feel intuitive, human-centric, and easy to adopt.

How Will I Make An Impact?

As a Principal Product Designer at Priority, you will play a critical role in shaping how design operates across the organization. This is a net-new opportunity to lead end-to-end product design work, from early customer problem definition and concept exploration through delivery, across a diverse set of applications in payments, banking, and financial services.

You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering, mentor and support a growing team of designers, and take ownership of high-impact conceptual and R&D-driven initiatives. This role offers the chance to influence Priority’s design maturity, help define how customer-centric design is practiced across the company, and lead some of the most forward-looking ideas coming from leadership and customers.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
  • You enjoy working in ambiguity and turning loosely defined problems into clear, actionable design direction
  • You’re energized by owning work end-to-end — from problem framing to shipped product
  • You’re excited by the idea of building and shaping a design discipline in an organization that’s still early in its design journey
  • You’re motivated by mentoring and elevating junior designers through hands-on leadership
  • You prefer deep, thoughtful design work over surface-level polish
  • You’re comfortable working across multiple interconnected products and domains
  • You want meaningful ownership and influence rather than a narrow, predefined scope
Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
  • A senior-level product designer with strong customer-centric and user-first design instincts
  • Someone who can independently lead complex design initiatives and define customer needs
  • A designer with in-depth case studies that demonstrate problem framing, research, and decision-making (not just visual output)
  • Comfortable collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the full lifecycle
  • Experienced working in early-stage, startup, or scaling environments where design maturity is evolving
  • Proficient in Figma and modern product design workflows
  • Strong understanding of HTML/CSS and how design decisions impact engineering
  • Able to balance conceptual, R&D-style work with practical execution
