How Will I Make An Impact?

As a hands-on technical leader, you’ll define and drive the next generation of mobile app development at Questrade. You’ll set the technical vision for React Native, guide its integration with native platforms, and help deliver mobile experiences that are fast, seamless, and world-class.

You will:

• Define and execute the long-term strategy for mobile development using React Native, aligning with business goals and industry trends.
  
• Architect, design, and build complex, high-performance mobile applications that scale reliably across iOS and Android.
  
• Mentor and elevate engineers across the mobile team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
  
• Identify and solve performance bottlenecks, leading optimization for speed, data streaming, and rendering.
  
• Establish React Native best practices for testing, CI/CD, and cross-platform development.
  
• Prototype and adopt emerging technologies to keep the platform modern, efficient, and competitive.
  
• Collaborate closely with design, product, and engineering leaders to influence the roadmap and ensure seamless user experiences.

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

You’re a senior mobile engineer who’s as comfortable setting strategy as you are writing code. You thrive on solving tough technical problems, guiding teams, and shaping a unified mobile experience across iOS and Android.

You might be a fit if you:

• Bring extensive experience developing and shipping large-scale React Native applications to both the App Store and Google Play.
  
• Have deep, hands-on expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and the React Native ecosystem, including the bridge and modern architecture (JSI).
  
• Have strong native development experience in iOS (Swift, Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin, Java), and know how to connect the two worlds.
  
• Excel at optimizing app performance, bundle size, and data streaming (WebSockets).
  
• Have led technical direction or architecture for high-traffic mobile products.
  
• Communicate clearly and can influence teams and stakeholders through collaboration and insight.
  
• Are curious, pragmatic, and excited to explore new tools and frameworks that push mobile innovation forward.

• A discussion with Questrade engineering and product leadership.
  
• A final conversation to align on goals, values, and long-term impact.
