Director of Communications - Questrade

Who Is Questrade & How Are They Changing the World

Questrade is one of Canada’s best-known financial services brands, serving Canadians who want greater control, transparency, and value in how they invest and manage money. As the company continues to evolve, it is working to expand its position from challenger brand to broader market leader, one that not only offers strong products, but also shapes the national conversation around money, investing, and financial empowerment. This role sits inside that transition and offers the opportunity to help define how Questrade is understood by customers, media, and the market at large.

How Will I Make An Impact?

As Director of Communications, you will build and lead the strategic communications engine behind Questrade’s public narrative. You will own the external PR strategy, help shape executive positioning, and ensure product launches land as coordinated media moments. You will also guide the company’s internal advocacy approach through leadership of internal communications at a strategic level. This is a high-ownership, greenfield opportunity to create structure, influence senior leaders directly, and help move Questrade into a stronger national thought-leadership position.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
  • You’ve built or transformed communications functions, not just maintained them.
  • You know how to translate complex financial or regulated-product stories into language media and customers can understand.
  • You’ve partnered closely with senior executives and know how to prep spokespeople for high-stakes moments.
  • You are comfortable managing agency relationships while also owning internal strategy and outcomes.
  • You thrive in environments that are changing quickly and don’t need everything to be perfectly defined before you start.
  • You have strong instincts for timing, messaging, and what makes an announcement land externally.
  • You can balance creativity and ambition with regulatory discipline.
  • You want the chance to shape a company narrative at an exciting inflection point.

  • Strong judgment in regulated or reputation-sensitive environments
  • Excellent writer and communicator with the ability to distill complex concepts into compelling narratives
