Deployment Engineer – Energy Systems

Confidential Deployment Engineer – Energy Systems

As a Deployment Engineer, you’ll sit at the intersection of software, data, and hardware, making sure utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are deployed smoothly from factory to field. You’ll support critical integrations, validate communications and data flows, and help bring complex energy systems online with confidence. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems and working closely with engineering teams across disciplines.

How Will I Make An Impact?
  • Coordinate the deployment and onboarding of EMS software and data pipelines during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and live project deployments
  • Act as the technical bridge between software, data, and hardware teams to ensure seamless system integration
  • Validate end-to-end data flow from field devices through EMS, SCADA, and analytics platforms
  • Configure and validate industrial communication networks, including Layer 2/3 switching, VLANs, routing, and firewall policies
  • Implement and verify communication architectures using protocols such as Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, and OPC UA
  • Review, update, and validate communication and data flow diagrams to meet project requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of data quality, reliability, and scalability across deployments
How Do I Know If This Is For Me?
  • You enjoy working at the intersection of software, networking, and physical energy systems
  • You’re comfortable supporting deployments both in a factory environment and in the field
  • You like collaborating with multiple teams and translating requirements across disciplines
  • You’re excited by renewable energy, storage systems, and real-world infrastructure challenges
  • You don’t mind travel for FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities
Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and device integration
  • Solid networking fundamentals, including routing, VLANs, STP, NAT, and firewall rules
  • Hands-on experience with industrial switches (e.g., Cisco, Hirschmann, Moxa)
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and diagnostics; experience with C++ for EMS or hardware integration is an asset
  • Experience with EMS, SCADA platforms, protocol gateways, or middleware
  • A strong problem-solver with clear documentation and communication skills
