Who Is TRU LUV & How Are They Changing the World?

TRU LUV makes technology that reflects and amplifies compassion. The company was founded by emotion AI expert Brie Code, former AI Lead at Ubisoft, who has over 20 years of experience in AI and games, and is advised by
humanistic AI expert and Siri co-creator Tom Gruber and political entrepreneur and The Politics of Waking Up author Indra Adnan. With headquarters in Toronto, they have an ecosystem across the globe.

TRU LUV is leveraging incredible research into human connection and collaborative flow to build a disruptive platform designed for fun, easy collaboration and social benefit. They explore forms of human-computer interaction that stimulate compassion rather than shock, fear, danger or challenge, discovering entirely new categories of products. Their model is a fresh alternative to the gamification model that reflects and amplifies reactivity and dominance that is often seen in traditional games and social platforms.

TRU LUV’s first app #SelfCare was designed in collaboration with a focused user group and set out to prove some of the foundational elements of their AI. It was recognized as one of Apple’s Best of 2018 and gained over 5M downloads organically with zero advertising spend. Their investors include conscious and impact investors Evolve Venture, Real Ventures, and Bridge Builders Collaborative, and interactive media specialists ALDEON, Everblue Management, and Animoca Brands.

How Will I Make An Impact?

You will report to Brie (Founder & CEO) and will lead the Engineering team through TRU LUV’s next phase of development; continuing to experiment and evolve their AI framework, and building a social platform on this foundation.

You will:

Mentor and grow a small team of passionate, technical developers while collaborating with the C-Suite
Optimize for benefit, not compulsive use - leaving room for reflection and purposeful direction
Make and drive technical decisions to lead TRU LUV through this next phase of growth and scale
Help build a new generation of social networks for social good and human development

You are an expert in complex, interactive B2C environments such as multi-player games or social networks
You have mentored and grown development teams
You enjoy working closely with the C-Suite and other leadership teams
You have experience with Unity development, C#, and some ML / AI

The Process:

As your Artemis Canada Recruitment Consultant, I’ll work closely with you through every step of the process.

TRU LUV is hyper-focused on delivering a positive candidate experience. The general hiring process looks like the following:

Chat with the CEO and COO (Brie & Linn)
Opportunity to experience a generative ritual (one of the rituals they run regularly with their team)
A panel interview with Directors and Programmers
An asynchronous bidirectional Q&A with all of TRU LUV’s team
A final panel interview with the Board of Directors and select Advisors
