RouteThis- Senior Product Manager

Who Is RouteThis & How Are They Changing the World?

We all rely on strong WiFi connectivity more than we’d likely care to admit; the pulse of the morning news on our smart speaker, the backbone to our video meetings, and of course the magic that powers Netflix to soften our focus after a long day of work. We are also all too familiar with the sinking feeling in our gut when our WiFi connection drops right before an important presentation (or perhaps more intensely, right before we’re set to stream 90 Day Fiance). Simply put, a happy home is a well-connected home, and for ISPs and Smart Home brands, happy customers are the key to outpacing the competition.

How Will I Make An Impact?

As the Sr Product manager, reporting to the Director, Product, you will:

  • Lead the exploration and pursuit of a new vertical outside of core markets, from initial market investigation through to the first sale.

  • Define and conduct prospect interviews to quickly understand prospect pain points, budget, competitive landscape, buying authority and more.

  • Make high-quality recommendations on market opportunities- marrying buyer pain with technically feasible product proposals.

  • Assemble in-depth buyer personas, including the recommended go-to-market approach.

  • Work with engineering to tightly define the product that will meet the buyers’ needs.

  • Work with the marketing team to create the first draft of sales enablement materials.

  • Deliver demos to early prospects.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

  • You are an experienced Product leader who has “been there, done that” when it comes to launching a new product to market, and you want to go there again.

  • You are energized by the prospect and challenges of owning your own product line from infancy through maturity.

  • You care deeply about resolving customer problems and pain points, and are driven to build the best possible end-to-end product experiences.

  • You want to be a part of a rapidly growing Canadian tech startup that is solving high-impact problems for both businesses and consumers.

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

  • Proven experience in product management

  • Have brought new products to market - all the way from ideation to delivery

  • Have some Product Marketing experience - creating buyer personas, slide decks, buyer journey maps, and more.

  • Are passionate about innovation and have experience managing high-impact projects in a SaaS startup environment.

  • Are comfortable working in a remote environment.

Bonus points if:

You spent time earlier in your career in Tech Sales, as a Business Development Representative, an Account Executive, a Solutions Engineer (or similar).

You have a background in Corporate IT, either as an IT professional or have sold products to IT buyers.

The Process:

After an initial screening call with me (Negin), the interview process is:

1. 45 minute interview with the CEO

2. 1-hour interview with the Director, Product

3. 1-hour interview with the VP, Marketing

Queue, RouteThis: A new solution to an old problem. In 2012, Jason, Matt, and Graham founded RouteThis. Their platform addresses an issue many businesses face as they look to support products that are running on home networks. The founding team has a deep understanding of the needs and pain points modern businesses are experiencing, and historically, have focused on ISPs and Smart Home products as their key markets.

The platform provides a tremendously detailed picture of a customer’s home network. This allows support agents to quickly and easily resolve connectivity issues, without asking customers detailed technical information, deploying specific hardware, pushing firmware updates, or doing remote desktop sessions.

Fast forward to the present day and RouteThis is taking off in a big way. Fresh off the heels of a $25M Series A in February 2022, the team of 70 is set to double over the next year to fuel their newly launched product line focused on proactive issue resolution (RouteThis Certify), with plans to expand into an additional vertical underway. Which is where YOU will come into play.
