How Will I Make An Impact?

Lincoln Electric Canada is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer with a passion for building world-class products and a desire to change the way Industrial Robotics are programmed outside the traditional production process. They’re a fast-moving group tasked with delivering cross-platform integrated Offline Robotic Programming experiences that will define the future of automated robotic fabrication.

Their solutions are a suite of transformative technologies which enables industrial robots to do more with less human input. They’re looking for a talented engineer who is excited to join a team developing new techniques to solve some of the most interesting challenges within Industrial robotics.

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

 

  • You’re excited to join the brand new Waterloo Ontario Industrial robotics automation team.

  • You feel good about joining a small team in a start-up environment with the benefits of working for a multinational organization.

  • You are confident implementing underlying robotics algorithms, such as planners, motion control, and perception, to improve robustness and organization.

  • You look forward to designing, integrating, testing, deploying, and maintaining new software to facilitate robotic functionality and interactions that perform various industrial fabrication tasks such as welding, cutting, and additive manufacturing. 

  • You can work alongside systems and hardware engineering teams to integrate software into robotic systems and subsystems.

  • You are happy to work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver real-world industrial robotic solutions.

  • You get excited about working on cutting-edge algorithms related to path planning and navigation for industrial robotic systems.
     

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

​

  • You have a degree in computer science, computer/electrical/mechanical engineering or other related fields.

  • You’re proficient in at least one of the modern programming languages such as C or C++, Python, and you have experience with C# in a desktop environment (MS .NET, WPF, etc.).

  • You have knowledge of software development fundamentals (OO, IoC, SOLID, Design Patterns, etc.).

  • You have experience with collaboration and continuous integration tools (Azure, Microsoft TFS/DevOps, GitLab, etc.).

  • You are proficient with 3D CAD including SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Creo. 

  • You have had experience operating and programming ABB (RAPID and PCSDK) and FANUC (Karel and PCDK) industrial robots. 

  • You have UI design experience.

  • You may have an understanding of robot kinematics and trajectory planning.

  • You may have experience with Agile Scrum workflow.
