Artemis Canada has partnered with Rogers Communications for an exciting opportunity to lead and grow their existing innovation lab.

How Will I Make An Impact? 

We’re looking for someone to lead the Rogers 5G Innovation lab (5G Create Lab). The Rogers Lab is focused on engaging enterprise customers around specific potential use cases of 5G. As the Lab Leader, you will have the opportunity to speak with clients, explore their needs and have your finger on the pulse of the potential impact that 5G can have on different businesses.

We're looking for a user-centric strategic thinker who is comfortable defining a vision with a measurable strategy for achieving that vision. You and your team will help to ensure Rogers is building meaningful products & services by partnering with internal teams and helping to prepare those teams to own, maintain and continuously improve the products/services. The Lab is also looking to engage in the Canadian ecosystem and make connections with startups and scaleups to partner and build collaboratively. You’ll be accelerating the adoption of 5G across various business units and technology teams across Canada.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build a pipeline of innovation: Identify, assess, prioritize and recommend innovative use cases

  • Align stakeholders under a defined strategy

  • Coordinate test & learn activities, evaluating PoCs to determine areas of improvement and adoption

  • Collaborate with the local ecosystem, to drive thought leadership and partnership in advancing the use cases

  • Leading a team designing innovation prototypes

  • Promote user-centred design and guide technological change at Rogers

  • Recruit, hire, nurture and lead diverse product teams

  • Communication with purpose - able to clearly articulate both the WHAT and the WHY; able to translate between lab and corporate language

  • Partnership approach - experience in, or working with, startups; familiarity with IP management

  • Business savvy - you're able to effectively challenge the organization and problem solve + build business cases to show the impact and ROI

  • Lean and agile mindset - practiced capacity for experimentation, validation, and execution with speed

  • Growth mindset - you demonstrate, and recognizes in others, that failure is an opportunity to learn

  • A mix of both corporate and entrepreneurial experience

  • Experience leading a high-performing, inclusive, team-first development culture and fostering team leaders who will do the same

  • You're a decisive leader who knows how to motivate cross-functional teams 

  • You're able to communicate technical concepts to anyone

  • Able to work cross-functionally with anyone from any department, present ideas to board members and mentor co-ops

  • Collaborative with partners, both internally and externally

  • ​Experienced with the innovation process and delivering on outcomes

  • Design thinking and prototyping experience 

  • Product management/design experience would be an asset
