How Will I Make An Impact?

As the Head of Technical Innovation, you will:

 

  • Manage Innovation Partnerships with InsurTech and Digital technology companies

  • Build and manage creation of MVPs, leveraging lean software development and agile principles

  • Create a strong Innovation Analysis process, identifying key Innovation themes

  • Have a deep understanding of, and advocate for Innovation Design practices

  • Deliver MVPs and POCs with Innovation group

  • Build and manage Innovation Partnerships & Technology practice

  • Support prioritization process for well-balanced Innovation Portfolio

  • Support business case development for scale of MVPs and POCs

  • Support Innovation culture change, focusing on practice to incentivize and engage organizational awareness and understanding

  • Support organization’s participation in Innovation Ecosystem, including assisting with external relationship building

  • Create strong internal and external relationships among Mutual and Reinsurance Community

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

You’re passionate about the innovation ecosystem, whether you work in a startup or scale up currently or help bring an innovational mentality to more traditional industries. You have experience leading innovation technology for in house or external use. When faced with an innovation project, you can decide which should be made in-house through an MVP and which should be done in collaboration with external partners. On that note, you have experience managing technology partnerships to deliver on key projects. You're passionate about innovation design practices and are able to quantify that passion through detailed process, plans, and execution.

Our Ideal Candidate Looks Like:

  • You have experience building partnership relationships with innovation players

  • You've previously held a mandate to increase innovation through technology, whether through in-house builds or technology partnerships

  • You know collaboration is the best way to achieve goals and KPIs

  • You're flexible in outcomes: You know that sometimes, a new product isn't the best outcome but rather, you value asking hard questions to prevent creating products that don't deliver enough value

  • You’re design-oriented: You understand and value the need for design, and concretely apply it to your everyday practice

  • You are an incredible communicator, both inspiring action with your words and listening with genuine interest

 

The Process:

After an initial call with me (Negin), the interview process is:

 

  1. Values-based interview with the hiring manager (AVP Innovation) and Chief People Officer

  2. Meeting the team: Innovation Researcher + Head of Innovation Design

  3. Case study preparation (on your own time)

  4. Presenting the case study to the AVP Innovation & Chief Operating Officer

  5. References & work-style assessment
