Director of Finance - In-House Solutions

How Will I Make An Impact?

  • You will provide both strategic direction plus operational support to In-House and consulting support for their affiliated sister company, Octopuz (robotics software)
     

  • You will work closely with senior management to develop and champion a financial plan, including P&L, budget management, cost-benefit analysis and forecasting needs
     

  • You will help drive the company’s financial objectives forward by making recommendations and business decisions
     

  • Develop and track key financial and operations metrics such as ROI, cost analysis, cost of acquisition, and project overrun
     

  • Perform pricing and margin analyses, assess results, prepare recommendations and determine trends
     

  • Update and monitor internal pricelists, product packaging, and margins to accurately consider true costs and business goals
     

  • Oversee accounting operations such as control systems, transaction-processing operations and policies, and procedures
     

  • Oversee commission calculation and sales reporting
     

  • Oversee all month/year-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation
     

  • Oversee cash, investments, asset management, and tax requirements
     

  • Provide leadership, coaching and day-to-day functional support to Accounting team
     

  • Lead continuous inter and intra department process improvement initiatives as it relates to accounting and finance
     

  • Work closely with the management team to unite initiatives, problem solve, and develop business plans
     

  • Represent company to banks, financial partners, business partners, public auditors, etc
     

  • Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

How Do I Know If This Is For Me?

You’re looking to support both big picture strategy work and coach and manage a team. You’re looking for the security of an established company but also a place where you can make improvements and optimize processes.

This role is a good fit for you if you are pragmatic, have excellent financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills in both Finance/Accounting and general business management. This will also be a good fit if you have direct experience working with external auditors, internal controls, business operations processes, and compliance related issues.
 

Do I Have What It Takes? (Requirements)

  • +10 years experience in Accounting or Finance
     

  • Graduate degree in Accounting or Business Administration
     

  • Completed CPA designation
     

  • Experience developing and implementing financial and operational processes
     

  • Experience evolving and customizing ERP implementations and integrating with other business systems
     

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to ‘sell’ ideas
     

Nice to haves (but not necessary):
 

  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct and SalesForce
     

  • Bilingual (French) would be an asset
     

  • Experience in the software industry
